A Symphony of Color

Just as a symphony is made up of many musicians and instruments all performing in synchronization with one another; vivid color, multiple textures, interesting forms, and lines are used to make a visual composition.

Painting is my response to something that is beautiful or excellent - a bird, a well-written phrase, the way someone plays the sax.  My paintings do not start with specifics; they may or may not start with color, or a definite use of materials and are not a copy of anything tangible.  Staying open to many influences and fostering a heightened awareness of my surroundings is my job. Then trusting my own artistic judgment, I intuitively create paintings.
